Engineering counselling in August

Hyderabad : As the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Hyderabad (JNTU-H) has decided to announce the Eamcet ranks on July 21, the much-delayed Eamcet counselling for admissions into engineering and pharmacy courses will begin in the second week of August.

The web-based counselling will be held for 10 days and the seat allotments will be made by August 24. Classes for first year students will begin from September 1.

This year, nearly two lakh seats out of 2.5 lakh seats will be offered through counselling in the convenor quota in nearly 700 engineering colleges.

The JNTU has been waiting to release the Eamcet ranks for over a month. The reason— the Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) delayed providing the marks data of senior Intermediate students.

Moreover, the “indecisiveness” of the Admissions and Fee Regulatory Committee (AFRC) on finalising the fee structure for professional courses added to the delay.
