IIT-JEE -2011several errors in the question paper

HYD: IIT-Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE)-2011 held in over 50 centres in the state on Sunday was a big letdown for many students as there were several errors in the question paper.

Students and experts from the city said there were at least four errors in Paper I of the entrance examination.

The paper was set by IIT-Kanpur. According to senior faculty members of IIT coaching centres, four questions in Paper I (code five), questions 55, 65 and 69 and question 63 of code 4 were wrong.

While question numbers 55 and 65 had inconsistent data, question number 69 had two answers with values three and nine. The questions were from matrix, differential equations and arithmetic progression sections of Mathematics respectively.

"Since the first two erroneous questions had inconsistent data, I spent too much time trying to solve them. Hence I lost time to solve other problems. The authorities should take these into consideration and grant marks for these questions or at least scrap them," said a student.
